Another mind-blowing week in AI
đ¤ AN AI-GENERATED DRAKE SONG GOES VIRAL
â Vice
"Heart on My Sleeve", an AI-generated track featuring Drake and The Weeknd is taking TikTok and Spotify by storm⌠and getting labels to run for their lawyers.
The song is likely just the very beginning of whatâs to come for the music industry â which so far has been relatively unaffected by AI, compared to the art and design world.
AI generated music has been around for a while. Dadabots, who describe themselves as âa cross between a band, a hackathon team, and an ephemeral research labâ have been hosting a 24/7 AI generated metal live stream since 2019. But progress has been accelerating. One example of that being the technique used for "Heart on My Sleeve" Â â Singing Voice Conversion, which can change the vocals of one artist to anotherâs.
As The Verge points out, this could either be the beginning of an epic legal battle between the music establishment and creatives or a genius PR stunt. Regardless, one thing is for sure: the way we produce and consume music is about to undergo a seismic shift. Get ready for a wild ride!
đ¤ AUTO-GPT IS BLOWING PEOPLES MINDS
â GitHub
Are you ready to witness an AI (seemingly) form thoughts on its own? Watching Auto-GPT chain together LLM-"thoughts" to autonomously achieve any goal you set is a mind-bending experience that feels both exhilarating and eerie. Take a peek at the demo here and see for yourself. đ¤Ż
Auto-GPT can browse the internet, execute code and even build a memory over time. As one of the first examples of GPT-4 running fully autonomously, this is really pushing the boundaries of what is possible with AI.
Interestingly, the project did not start within a big tech company but as an open source project. In a just couple of weeks it has gained over 90k stars on GitHub â for comparison PyTorch, the most used AI framework, gathered 65k stars in 7 yearsâŚ
But with all the excitement comes the inevitable â of course it only took a week for someone to create an Auto-GPT to âdestroy humanityâ:Â ChaosGPT
We are entering truly uncharted territory here and we as a society have to make sure that we are prepared and can adapt to the changes ahead.
đż AMAZON LAUNCHES AWS BEDROCK
â Amazon
Amazon has been fairly quiet on AI, compared to Microsoft, Google and Facebook trying to one up each other.
Now they announced a new service as part of their Amazon Web Services platform: Bedrock. Unlike the fairly closed systems of AI powered products (like Microsoft Office or Google Workspace) Amazon wants to make it easier for any company to implement & adapt a variety of models.
Bedrock lets users choose from a variety of Foundation Models from AI21 Labs, Anthropic, Stability AI, as well as two new models that Amazon built themselves called Titan.
They are not the only ones joining the AI game. Elon Musk (after co-founding the original non-profit behind OpenAI in 2015) has reportedly started his own AI company, X.ai, with the goal of building an AI assistant to rival OpenAIâs ChatGPT.
đş GOOGLE AI 60 MINUTES TAKEOVER
â YouTube
Looking for something to watch tonight? Maybe have a look at this: Google took over legendary newsmagazine 60 Minutes to showcase the work they are doing in AI.
While this at times feels like a (much needed) ad for Google AI, it also gives some fascinating examples of what they are working on, featuring great insights from DeepMindâs Demis Hassabis and Alphabetâs CEO Sundar Pichai⌠and even some teary eyes for host Scott Pelley.
